Charles Yokoyama

Charles Yokoyama is a Professor at Fujita Health University with appointments in the International Center for Brain Science and the Office for Research Administration. His research and teaching interests include scientific communication, the epistemology of neuroscience, and mindfulness. He has served in executive management and research administration positions at The University of Tokyo (International Research Center for Neurointelligence), and RIKEN (Brain Science Institute), and was also Senior Scientific Editor of Neuron, a leading neuroscience journal, policy writer for the G7 Summit Science Academies, and the Associate Editor for BrainFacts.org, a public education website. As a researcher, he studied memory and learning, voltage-gated ion channels, and synaptic transmission as a postdoc at Cornell University, Ph.D. from the University of Washington, and M.S. from M.I.T.  Currently, he serves as a scientific director for the John E. Mack Institute and a research curator for the Archives of the Impossible metadata project.
